Women Talking by Miriam Toews blew us away with its portrayal of simple women taking on problems of huge consequence to themselves and their families. For those of you who love the Tudor period, you may enjoy Alison Weir’s history of the queens who helped to shape English history during the Conquest.

We love our glossy decorating and gardening tomes and read them cover to cover. They contain excellent advice and insider information on where to source the latest plants, fabrics, or designer that can help you realize your dreams.

My husband and I used to read aloud to our boys most evenings for many years. We have kept up the wonderful habit even though they have moved on and out of the home. We are currently reading the Lord of the Rings trilogy. What a beautiful tale. Our favorite book we read in 2019 was a Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles. Happy reading all!
