Decorating With Pumpkins

Decorating With Pumpkins

Living in New England, we’ve developed a bit of a pumpkin and gourd fetish. Our favorite farm stands are laden with dozens of odd and unique varieties each fall. Decorating with pumpkins is an annual tradition we look forward to every year. It’s easy, fun, and the results will put the whole family in a festive spirit.

Casual or Elegant Decorating

When you decorate with pumpkins, you can go formal or informal, depending on where you place them, and the look you desire.

The rustic but elegant pumpkin tower above can be recreated with any container. It’s so fun to stack pumpkins at the farm stand and see which colors, shapes, and sizes work together best. You’ll need to gently remove the stems from the base and middle pumpkin without piercing the skin, which will cause the pumpkin to rot. Surround the base with a wreath of  faux leaves, which will last the season.
