If the frenzy of the holiday season left you unable to contemplate another party, we’ve got you covered. For football season’s last hurrah, we’re going to show you how to take it easy while hosting a Super Bowl crowd. We’ve pulled together easy and delicious football party fare that will please fans ~ and those who just want to join the fun and socialize.
Pre-Game Strategy: Setting Up For a Crowd
We’re talking casual entertaining, and that means serving yourself. Your guests want to feel like they are contributing and that you don’t have to wait on them, so set up a bar and food area where they can grab drinks and nibbles.
Provide a variety of cold and warm appetizers. These offerings will keep everyone happy until the main dish is ready to be served.
Some of our favorites are popcorn or pretzels in paper cups, dips with veggie sticks, and crackers and cheese.
The cheese and cracker board above is easy and fun for kids to assemble.
Our football parties always include warm artichoke dip, above. Any leftovers (and we’re dreaming here ~ there are NEVER leftovers!) make a really good spread for sandwiches, or filling for stuffed chicken.
Kickoff: Crowd Pleasing Main Dishes
Our best crowd pleasing hearty dish is taco soup. We’ve never found an easier soup to make. The bonus is that it’s also delicious.
We provide a variety of garnishes for taco soup, such as diced avocado, grated cheese, chopped green onions, and tortilla chips.
It’s one of those recipes where you add a can of this and a package of that. The result (recipe below) is a hearty soup with a Tex-Mex vibe.
Sliders make great football party fare too. These pulled pork-n-slaw sliders are super easy to make.
You can easily make crock pot pulled pork or purchase it from a local barbecue restaurant.
Quarter Five: Desserts
There’s always room left for cookie sandwiches and whoopee pies.
For a dessert that’s a bit more involved, these chocolate covered strawberries iced like footballs are mouth watering.
Easy football fare means desserts that are simple to throw together, like these football-themed chocolate covered strawberries. Kids can help you make them by melting chocolate chips and finishing them with store-bought icing.
