You probably haven’t taken down your Christmas decorations, so take advantage of the cheerful atmosphere they create in your home. Your friends will relish their warmth as they sit beside the fire, sipping, nibbling, and chatting about plans for the coming year.
Three Festive Cocktails
Kir Royale
Greet your guests on New Year’s Eve with this elegant apéritif. Like most elegant things, it’s quite simple, consisting of a small dash of crème d’ cassis topped with champagne. It’s beautiful garnished with fresh raspberries or a lemon twist. Apéritifs are commonly served before dinner and pair well with salty foods like nuts, olives, or good old-fashioned potato chips.
Cranberry Crush
In the depths of winter, so close on the heels of Christmas, red is a visually appealing color. Mix up a pitcher of Cranberry Crush, a fresh combination of prosecco, cranberry juice, and vodka. Garnish with cranberries and a sprig of rosemary to make a beautiful winter cocktail.
Mudslide
Now we’re getting a bit more fancy, and definitely sweeter, so you might want to offer mudslides as a dessert after hors d’oeuvres have been consumed. It’s a delicious holiday cocktail that people won’t usually order for themselves when out, which will make yours all the more special.
