Gather Sunflowers at Colby Farm

One of the most wonderful things about living in New England is the vast array of local farms to visit.  Today, we visited Colby Farm in Newbury to see the sunflower fields in full bloom.  What an amazing sight!  The bold yellow against the crisp blue sky…it makes me smile!  It was impossible to leave this farm without a few blooms in hand!  Adding a bouquet of bright, yellow sunflowers is a cheery way to welcome the start of fall into your home.

Fall is one of our favorite seasons to visit the surrounding farms.  Pumpkins fill the fields, golden, ruby and creamy colored mums abound, the smell of cider donuts and hot chocolate increases the appetite, and harvest festivals with hay rides and apple picking make for fun weekend outings with our families.  Despite the unusually extreme heat, we left Colby Farm excited for the start of our favorite season in New England.

Have a cheery day!
