An Easter Table

~ Easter is the only time it’s okay to put all your eggs in one basket. ~

An Easter Table

Setting a beautiful Easter table is fun, and with just a little imagination, you can achieve beautiful results.  This Easter, we’re all about pastels.  I have an abundance of pretty tableware and decor that I gathered to create two completely different settings.

An Easter Table

Our first Easter table is perfect for a family gathering with kids. I used raffia placemats from Home Goods, which I love for their texture and natural color.  Next came blue dotted plates from Green Gate, topped with egg-shaped bowls from Williams Sonoma.

I extended the Easter theme to the sideboard.  The various bunnies, chicks, nests, and the golden pineapple came from Home Goods.

One of our favorite Easter traditions is the children’s tea, served with breakfast.  Our kids get to help us set out the miniature Wedgewood tea service, pour their own tea, and serve each other donuts.  This is always the second most popular Easter activity!

During the day, we set up a self-serve drinks tray.  As the day goes on, we’ll add nibbles to the tray, like Mom’s Old Fashioned Deviled Eggs.

They’re always the most popular thing on the menu!

Stuffed Artichoke Crown Appetizers

The cheese and herb artichoke crowns are tasty too!

Easter is the perfect time to use fun serving items, like the mouse cheese picks above.

Children appreciate when you make an effort to include them in your entertaining plans.  Ours love the special bunny straws, which we found at Target.

If your style is more formal, you can tone down the colors, add candlelight, and use china, crystal, and sterling to set an Easter table.  In this setting, we’ve stayed within a limited color range of pink, cream, gold, and silver.  The pink china is vintage, from the 1950s.

Our Easter menu is pretty much a staple for us.  We like to print menus for guests to take home, and for us to use as reference for future Easter dinners.

We encourage you to add a bit of whimsey to formal settings, like the tiny nests filled with pastel eggs.

Whatever your style, you can personalize your formal Easter table and bring delight to the occasion.

Happy Easter, and happy spring!
